Mozart's Homes in Salzburg
Mozart's Geburthaus, 9 Getreidegasse- In 1756, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born here in the family's third floor apartment, where they lived until 1773. Only slightly familiar with Mozart due to a humanities class I took years ago, I enjoyed this self-guided audio tour so much more than I expected. The story of the Mozart and his family, placed in the social and political history of the time, was so interesting. Seeing all the letters they wrote, getting a sense of their personalities, made it even better.
Mozart Wohnhaus- Mozart's residence from 1773 to 1781, when he moved to Vienna.
Home of the Mozarteum Foundation. The Foundation is dedicated to preserving Mozart's legacy, including making both his homes in Salzburg open to the public as museums.
