I've been reading David McCullough's John Adams and came across a reference to Laurence Stern's A Sentimental Journey.
"There were all kinds of travelers, Sterne had written—inquisitive travelers, idle travelers, vain travelers—but the true value of travel was not in strenuous sightseeing. It was in opening one's heart to feeling."
Another travel quote to add to my collection.
(I highly recommend McCullough's book, I only regret waiting this long to read it)
