***UPDATE*** October 8, 2007- I've started a new blog called Rambling Puzzles where I will be posting Rambling Traveler's online jigsaw puzzles.
I learned something new this weekend. There are free online jigsaw puzzles. I feel like a whole new world has opened up for me. My addiction to jigsaw puzzles started when I was a little girl and I helped my grandmother put 1000 piece puzzles together.
When our sons were younger, I took a break from puzzles. When you have very young children, it's difficult to keep a puzzle out on a table. Little hands reaching up to grab the pieces, maybe putting the pieces into their mouths. It isn't a good situation.
But now you can go to JigZone.com and choose from hundreds of puzzles that you can do on your computer. My boys are older now and they no longer eat puzzle pieces, but the option of playing online is still worthwhile. No missing pieces, no worries about where to set it out. I also like that I can do a puzzle in a short amount of time.
JigZone lets you select an image, choose how many pieces (up to 247), and what shape you want the pieces to be. I checked out the travel section and there are some great photographs from different destinations.
If you sign up to be a member, you can upload your own images to make puzzles like I did with the above picture from last week's Friday Photo Post. Another benefit of being a member is the chance to compete against your friends and share your solve times with each other.
Are you a fan of jigsaw puzzles? Check it out and let me know what you think. Or, do you already know all about this and I'm just way behind?

I do the Jigzone puzzles all the time - in fact, I've done ALL of them several times and am always thrilled when someone posts their own pictures so that I get to do a new puzzle. Your photos are SO very beautiful and perfect for puzzles! Please post some more puzzles!!
Carolyn
Thank you, Carolyn! I'm having a great time on JigZone, and I am definitely going to post more puzzles.
Stacy, I've been addicted to online puzzles (and JigZone...uploaded numerous photos) for several years now, and as Carolyn wrote, am thrilled when finding new ones to solve. :D
Thanks for allowing us to solve these beauties! ;o
V
Hi, V. I'm glad you enjoyed them. Are you able to see all the images that I uploaded? I'm still trying to figure this out. I uploaded several images from different trips we've taken, and I'll be sharing them on my site.
Yeppers Stacy, all those amazing images are visible, and WOW! :O Some of them are a tad bit bittersweet, cos longtime online friend (lilpoke/Heidi) who lived in CO Springs, was killed in auto accident last Sept.
Nature is simply stunning, yet our leaves are usually gone before 1st frost, =sigh= even tho in NE TX, we do have hardwood trees.
BTW, 51 piece crazy became my fave a couple years ago, then bulbs, plus I take them to several MSN group for peeps to solve. :D
What can I say? :O Along with bunches of ppl, I'm totally addicted. :p LOL
Should you need any help, just shout out...unsure of privacy, but being in law inforcement, not really worried. ;o
Welcome, fellow puzzle peep! ;o
Okay, you obviously know more than I, cos I dunno how to put up my pic. :p
Thank you, V! I'm glad you like the pictures, although I'm sorry to hear about your friend.
Take care,
Stacy
I'm off to dance a jig!
Hello, David! What's going on?
Hi. I've been doing Jigzone puzzles for just a few months and love it. Today's picture "Brick Doorways" is one of my all time favorites. So much so that today I hit a link to find out more about the photo. To my great pleasure, I found YOU! And other travel blogs to boot. Is this, in fact, your photo? Where did you take it? Absolutely beautiful. I love doorways, entrances, arches. I come home from all adventures with lots of doorway pictures. I've now bookmarked your blog. A bonus Jigzone day.
Hi Tess! Welcome to Rambling Traveler. Brick Doorways isn't my puzzle. Although it is shown underneath the puzzle of the day, the link to my site is part of JigZone's featured embedded puzzle, unrelated to the puzzle of the day. It is a great picture, though. I do like to take pictures of doorways when I travel. I'll have to find some of my old pictures and turn some into puzzles!
