Ecological Footprints and Global Warming

On Monday, Justin Glow at Gadling had an interesting post about ecological footprints. I followed his link to another site and took the Earth Day Footprint quiz. My results were better than the average for where we live, but still scary when you think about the amount of natural resources we use. Take the quiz and see how you score. If anything, it will get you to think about natural resources and how you use them.

Back in December, Ian at Brave New Traveler wrote about global warming. He included a link to a list of "100 Ways you can improve the environment". I downloaded the pdf file and printed it. It's a good reminder of easy things we can do to conserve energy and protect our natural resources.

Being conscious of our choices and how they affect the environment is important. Hopefully the footprint quiz and SEQL list will give you some ideas of the things you can do.

hey Stacy! I took your quiz and was somewhat surprised by my results. I need 3.9 earths to keep up my lifestlye, pretty bad when you are in a major that has the ultimate goal of improving and restoring our natural environment. I think my driving pushed it over the edge. I tried to consider myself as more conservative in other aspects, but I may have to reflect on that again! Makes you wonder what some other people would score, or if a big company like 3m or conagra took this test. Something tells me that they would need a lot more than 3.9 earths!

Hi Jenny! I'm glad you took the quiz. It surprised me, too. I thought we were making such good choices, but obviously we can do a lot better!
